Ellis Park Race Course, constructed in 1922, was originally named Dade Park. It was later named after longtime track owner James C. Ellis. Currently, Ellis Park runs a summer meet of live thoroughbred horse racing. The layout of the track allows patrons to get up close to the horses weather the horses are prepping for the races in the paddock or thundering down the stretch on the track. The hometown atmosphere is prevalent at Ellis Park as a soybean crop is grown in the infield every summer, and family funs days are a staple at every meet. Come enjoy the races with a hot dog by the rail or relax with a panoramic view of the track and have waitress service in one of our indoor dining rooms.
