DWD Longhorns is founded on sustainably managing soil and livestock. We invite guests to share our vast and dark night skies while listening to the music of owls and coyotes. By day, guests may enjoy the flora and fauna of the Balcones Escarpment of the Texas Hill Country including our herd of historically correct Texas Longhorn cattle. Two wet-weather creeks run through our property and near by are the Sabinal and Medina Rivers. This location offers great birdwatching, off-trail hiking and equestrian trail riding. The rustic masonry cabin provides ideal solitude for a writers' retreat, lodging for Plein Air painters, and students of the soil.
