The Albany Farmers' Market, started in 1978, is thought to be the oldest continuously operating open-air farmers' market in the state of Oregon.
Since 2007 the market has operated in the City Hall parking lot at 4th & Ellsworth and an adjacent section of 4th Ave. that is shaded by heritage trees on the east lawn of the county courthouse.
We take farm direct seriously -- on all 32 market days our farm vendors bring only agricultural products that they grew in one of six local counties. A Community Table serves local gardeners wanting to consign, but there is no resale allowed. There's a little bit of baked goods and restaurant foods so you won't leave due to hunger pangs.
