In October 2003, Jamie Like and Anita Frazer purchased a tract of land in Henderson County with approximately 5.9 acres on it with the plan of having a vineyard and one day, a winery. Since the spring of 2004, three acres of grape vines have been planted on the property representing both French American Hybrids and American varieties of grapes. Those varieties include: Concord, Niagara, Seyval, Chambourcin, Traiminette, Vignoles, Stueben, and Marechal Foch.
On November 11, 2006, Ruby Moon Vineyard & Winery opened its doors for business in a charming winery/tasting room and gift shop located on the property that was completed in the fall of 2006. Visitors are able to sample and purchase wines, enjoy a cheese and fruit plate in the tasting room or patio area, take self guided tours of the vineyard grounds and attend a variety of music, art and educational related events scheduled throughout the year.
