The Chambal Safari Lodge is an eco-tourism venture designed by Ram Pratap Singh and his wife Anu to help create awareness and support for a forgotten corner of the World. A mere 1 hrs drive from Agra and the Taj Mahal, yet it is a world far removed from the chaotic madness and unsustainable consumption of modern cities.
The Lodge nestles in 35 acres of reclaimed woodland, and is further surrounded by extensive farmlands. The owners conduct numerous nature safaris and have organised short farming holidays for school children.
The farmlands are particularly productive. The techniques used are a mix of the old and new and offer a facinating insight into a rural community that retains its bonds with the land.
70 kms SE of Agra on the Fatehabad Road. Follow signs to Fatehabad (30 kms) and then to Bah. 3 kms short of Bah, the Lodge and farms lie to the right. 100m dirttrack past the rainwater pond brings one to the Lodge gates.
