A fourth generation family farm established in 1907, TS Smith & Sons is Delaware's oldest commercial fruit grower and only solar powered Century Farm. Beginning in April, when harvest asparagus through December when we sell the last of our apples, cider, broccoli, kale, cauliflower, turnips, and cabbage, we are open every day to offer the finest produce from our fields and orchards at a fair price. Our historic farm market is open every day from mid-April through Dec 24. Regardless of season, let the smell of freshly baked donuts greet you as you walk through the door.
In July and August, the public is invited to pick their own tree-ripened peaches and nectarines and then come back in September and October to pick their own apples and pumpkins.
We also offer special events in on the 2nd Satuday of May, Aug, and Oct to highlight the season's best produce, hay rides, live music, farm tours, and more. We wrap up the year with a Holiday Open House on the first Sat in Dec that offers live carolling, pictures with Santa and Mrs Claus, recipes, samples, demos, poinsettias, and if the weather cooperates... hay rides!
Our farm offers a variety of customized events that are suitable for school tours, corporate trainings and meetings, family reunions, picnics, farm to table dinners, weddings, and more. Let us help you plan your special event.
We grow asparagus, sweet corn, peaches, nectarines, watermelons, cantaloupes, squash, peppers, green beans, apples, pumpkins, kale, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, and turnips.
Oour growing methods reflect state of the art agricultural techniques designed to conserve water, soil, and fossil fuels. We utilize Integrated Pest Management strategies so that our chemical interventions are minimized.
